Rodney Miller has been named administrator of Memorial Regional Hospital, Hollywood, Fla., effective Dec. 3. Miller, 35, resigned last month after five years as president and chief executive officer of Schneider Regional Medical Center, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
In an announcement, Schneiders board said the young executive arrived at a time of chaos and uncertainty, and waning public confidence. The board credited him with helping Schneider achieve new levels of ability to serve our sick and needy and to survive the ongoing financial challenges.
At Memorial Regional, a 690-bed hospital in the public Memorial Healthcare System, Miller replaces J.E. Piriz, who will become the systems senior vice president for east operations.
Miller was a Modern Healthcare Up & Comer in 2002, and he was named the Star Student of the class of 2002 in Modern Healthcares Up & Comers Yearbook. -- by Gregg Blesch
