InfoLogix has acquired Healthcare Informatics Associates, a management and clinical/financial systems consulting firm, for $16.5 million, the company announced.
Healthcare Informatics, Bainbridge Island, Wash., will operate within InfoLogix as its healthcare consulting and systems integration service line. All 58 employees are moving under the InfoLogix umbrella; Healthcare Informatics will retain its name, said InfoLogix spokesman Jason Fradin. InfoLogix, Hatboro, Pa., provides mobile enterprise solutions for more than 1,400 hospitals to increase efficiency, accuracy and transparency in business and clinical processes.
The acquisition, which was under negotiation for several months, provides a "unique" skill set for InfoLogixexperienced healthcare informatics consultants who are also trained practitioners, including nurses, pharmacists and clinicians positioned to understand the needs of the industry, Fradin said.
