Iron Mountain has acquired RMS Services, a Southfield, Mich.-based records-management company valued at $27 million. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, the company said.
Iron Mountain, Boston, a provider of information protection and storage services, will retain RMS employees, officials said in a news release. In addition, Ed Santangelo, RMS president and chief executive officer, will become president of Iron Mountain's health information services consulting.
The company will use RMS file-room and film-library management services in its health information solutions to help healthcare facilities in their transition to electronic health records. -- by Jean DerGurahian
