U.S. Preventive Medicine, a Dallas-based private company that partners with providers on wellness initiatives, has acquired Specialty Disease Management Services, a coordinated-care firm operating in seven states.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition will enable U.S. Preventive Medicine to expand its national network of integrated services and methodology to meet the growing consumer and government demand for prevention services, the company said. Brian Baum, president and chief operating officer of U.S. Preventive Medicine, said Specialty Disease Management Services model for disease management complements the companys prevention delivery capabilities.
U.S. Preventive Medicine licenses its methodology, technology and other assets to health providers and delivers prevention services at the point of care.
