Sally Lee has been named executive director of the National Institute of General Medicine Sciences at the National Institutes of Health, according to an NIH news statement.
Lee joined the NIGMS as an administrative technician in 1988 and has been deputy executive officer since 2000. The agency, which has a staff of about 150 and a $1.9 billion budget, funds research and training grants at universities, medical schools, hospitals and research institutions.
