Clifton Louie has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer of First DataBank effective Oct. 5, the company announced.
Louie, 58, worked previously as executive director for clinical services and associate dean for the School of Pharmacy at the University of California at San Francisco. In addition to managing pharmaceutical operating units with the school, Louie was responsible for the direct management of several departments within 574-bed UCSF Medical Center.
Louie, a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, is a reviewer for the Journal of the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists and the American Journal of Managed Care. He holds a doctorate in public administration from the University of Southern California, a master's degree from the University of San Francisco and a bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical sciences from Oregon State University.
