John Quinn has been named chief technology officer of Health Level Seven, a healthcare IT standards development organization.
Quinn, 58, was serving as chief technology officer of Accenture's provider, health and life sciences practice and will continue as an Accenture employee during his tenure at HL7. Accenture, which is a benefactor supporter of HL7, will financially support Quinns position at that organization.
Quinn will implement HL7's product and services strategy in conjunction with the chief executive officer, oversee the timely delivery of standards, and report on progress of key initiatives and specifications to the membership and stakeholders.
