Nancy Andrews has been named dean of the Duke University School of Medicine, Durham, N.C. Andrews, 48, is leaving her position as dean for basic sciences and graduate studies at Harvard Medical School, Boston. Andrews succeeds R. Sanders Williams, who was recently promoted to the position of senior vice chancellor for academic affairs after six years as dean of the medical school. Andrews, a pediatric hematologist/oncologist, is a member of the Institute of Medicine and was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences this year.
