The National Center for Healthcare Leadership, Chicago, and GE Healthcare, Waukesha, Wis., have signed a five-year deal to jointly develop and market healthcare leadership training programs under a newly created GE division, the Institute for Transformational Healthcare Leadership, officials said. The partners are expected to unveil the Institute on Wednesday. Under the deal, the NCHL will continue to license its existing healthcare leadership development products to educational or not-for-profit organizations, but GE Healthcare will hold the exclusive commercial rights for such programs, said Marie Sinioris, the NCHLs president and chief executive officer. Additional training will be jointly developed, independently tested by the NCHL and offered through the institute, which will be operated by GE Healthcare, she said. Garrett Ogden, a GE Healthcare practice leader, said the partners expect to launch the first two training programs for front-line and human resources managers in October. -- by Melanie Evans
