The AMA proposes the use of tax credits or vouchers to help people buy health insurance and backs increased federal funding for such government programs as the State Children's Health Insurance Program. It also launches a multimillion-dollar ad campaign to promote its plan, targeting voters in early primary states and asking them to consider candidates positions on the uninsured.
