Vicki Briggs has resigned as chief executive officer of Trinity Medical Center, Birmingham, Ala.
Tim McManus, chief operating officer, is serving as interim CEO while the hospital conducts a national search for a new executive, the company said.
Briggs, 53, who has led the 350-bed hospital for two years, said in a written statement that she has enjoyed her work at Trinity but is ready to spend time with her family while evaluating other opportunities. We have positioned the hospital for continued growth, (but) I am eager to take a step back, catch my breath and see what the future brings, she said.
McManus, 36, holds a masters degree in health science from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, Baltimore. The transition was effective today. -- by href="mailto:[email protected]">Jean DerGurahian
