Lifespan, a Rhode Island health system, has hired Mary Reich Cooper, 50, to act as chief quality officer and vice president for the system.
Cooper, a physician, came on board July 1. She will lead the companys quality initiatives, with emphasis on disease management, clinical data reporting, reducing hospital-acquired infections and collaborating with the state to help advance its quality initiatives.
Cooper served as quality officer and medical director of clinical practice evaluation for 2,163-bed New York-Presbyterian Hospital prior to joining Lifespan. -- by Shawn Rhea
