QuadraMed Corp., a Reston, Va.-based provider of revenue-cycle management and clinical software, announced that it will buy the CPR hospital electronic medical record system from Raleigh, N.C.-based Misys Healthcare Systems for $33 million in a deal that is expected to close within 60 days.
A QuadraMed news release said the company intends to hire nearly 150 Misys employees who service CPR customers and work in offices located in New York, Raleigh, and San Bernardino, Calif. In March 2006, QuadraMed announced that it would lay off about 5% of its workforce to eliminate "inconsistent and redundant development, installation and service structures" that exist as a result of QuadraMed's purchase of other companies.
