The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology announced that it will take applications from vendors seeking CCHIT certification for their inpatient electronic health record products starting Aug. 1, and the application period will remain open until Aug. 14.
CCHIT recommends that vendors prepare for certification testing by reviewing materials on its Web site.
CCHIT also announced that it is looking for candidates to serve as commissioners for two-year terms that would begin this October. There are six seats open on its 21-member board, and those seats are reserved for representatives of healthcare consumer organizations, health information exchanges, informatics experts, public health agencies, safety net providers and ambulatory-care providers.
