Executive search firm Witt/Kieffer, Oak Brook, Ill., named James Gauss to succeed Jordan Hadelman as president and chief executive officer.
Hadelman, 54, stepped down as chief executive July 1 but remains chairman.
Gauss, 51, who joined Witt/Kieffer in 1981, was previously Witt/Kieffers executive vice president of consulting. Witt/Kieffer, which specializes in healthcare and education recruiting, reported revenue of $35 million for fiscal 2007, which ended June 30, according to the company. Witt/Kieffer ranked No. 4 on this year's Modern Healthcare survey of executive search firms. -- by Melanie Evans
