Home-health services provider Gentiva Health Services said it acquired the home-health operations of North Carolina Baptist Hospital for about $3.8 million in cash.
As a part of the deal, which is expected to add to earnings during the first year of operations, Gentiva also bought the respiratory and home medical-equipment business of the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based hospital.
No other terms were disclosed.
The new business units, which will operate as Gentiva Home Health and Gentiva Respiratory Services & HME, will expand Gentiva's existing market presence in North Carolina, the company said in a news release. -- by the Associated Press
