Robert Zollars has been named chairman and chief executive officer of Vocera Communications, Cupertino, Calif., a developer of voice-activated communication systems used in hospitals and other healthcare facilities, the company has announced.
According to a company news statement, Zollars previously served as president and CEO of Wound Care Solutions, Jacksonville, Fla., now part of Diversified Clinical Services, a wound-care program provider. Zollars also served as chairman and CEO of the former online supply change service provider Neoforma and a vice president of pharmaceutical wholesaler Cardinal Health. He has a master's degree in finance from John F. Kennedy University and a bachelor's degree in marketing from Arizona State University.
Zollars replaces Julie Shimer, who left Vocera earlier this year to become president and CEO of medical device manufacturer Welch Allyn, Skaneateles Falls, N.Y. -- by Joseph Conn / HITS staff writer
