Doctors Medical Center, San Pablo, Calif., named Joe Stewart to succeed turnaround consultant Timothy Weis as interim chief executive officer, effective immediately.
Weis, a managing director with Chicago-based Huron Consulting Group, was tapped as interim chief executive after CEO Irwin Hansen resigned in April. Stewart was recently president and CEO of the 251-bed Butler (Pa.) Health System.
