Carondelet Health, Kansas City, Mo., said that it has hired Thomas Pagano as vice president and chief information officer of the two-hospital system, which is part of Ascension Health, St. Louis. He replaced Stewart Grant as CIO. Pagano leaves a job as CIO of Truman Medical Centers, Kansas City. He also previously worked at 149-bed Lawrence (Kan.) Memorial Hospital.
Prior to moving into healthcare, Pagano was a consultant and systems integrator for American Management Systems, Fairfax, Va., which was acquired by CGI, Montreal, in 2004. Pagano serves on the board of the University of Missouri at Kansas City Technology Steering Committee and is a member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives. -- by Vince Galloro / HITS staff writer
