Intellectual-property and corporate-governance lawyer Ronald Lund, 72, has been appointed chief legal officer for Plymouth, Minn.-based cardiac devicemaker AGA Medical Corp. In the newly created post, Lund will provide senior managers and board members with direction on domestic and international legal strategies, compliance and intellectual-property issues.
Lund, who took over the post June 1, reports directly to AGA President and Chief Executive Officer Franck Gougeon. Lund comes to AGA from the Minneapolis law firm Fredrikson & Byron.
Lund also previously served as senior vice president and general counsel at Medtronic, where he was responsible for risk management, and as general counsel for the American Red Cross in Washington. -- by Shawn Rhea
