Elaine Comeau has been named chief nursing executive for clinical transformation at VISICU, Baltimore, a provider of remote monitoring and clinical information systems for intensive-care units. Most recently, Comeau served as interim president and chief executive officer of the 129-bed St. Joseph Hospital, an Ascension Health hospital in Augusta, Ga., where she presided over its sale in November 2006 to Triad Hospitals. Comeau also served as vice president of clinical operations at St. Joseph Hospital before her elevation in November 2005 to interim president and CEO. She has a degree in nursing from Newton-Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing and a master's degree in health policy and management from Harvard University, according to a statement from VISICU. -- by Joseph Conn / HITS staff writer
