Thomson Healthcare, an Ann Arbor, Mich.-based healthcare data and information company, has announced the acquisition of Health Care Data, Encinitas, Calif., a provider of performance measurement and clinical outcomes analysis and reporting services for hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare service providers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Health Care Data provides services to more than 110 hospitals, 150 long-term acute-care hospitals and more than 130 home-care facilities, according to a Thomson Healthcare news release. The acquisition will add to a health data analysis and IT portfolio at Thomson Healthcare that already includes acquisitions of Solucient, Medstat and MercuryMD.
Thomson Healthcare is a unit of Stamford, Conn.-based Thomson Corp., an information broker with operations in 37 countries. -- by Joseph Conn
