Physician informaticist Michelle Seelig, M.D., was named director of health information for the Puget Sound Health Alliance, a not-for-profit quality improvement organization based in Seattle. Seelig, who declined to reveal her age, previously worked within the clinical research and development group of Health Benchmarks, Woodland Hills, Calif., a developer of performance measurement programs for payers. She holds a master's degree in health services research from the University of California at Los Angeles and also has worked with the Puget Sound Veterans Administration Health Service Research and Development Center of Excellence. According to a news release, this summer the Alliance will unveil a public report on the performance of area clinics and hospitals.
