Cancer expert Richard L. Schilsky, M.D., was elected president of the American Society of Clinical Oncology for a one-year team beginning in June 2008. Five other members were elected to the board of directors and two members to the nominating committee. Schilsky, 56, is the associate dean for clinical research at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Schilsky has been a member of the society for 27 years, and has served the society in many capacities, including on its board of directors from 2002 to 2005, and as board liaison for the Grants Selection Committee. He is also a member of the society’s Government Relations Council.
