Sutter Health, Sacramento, Calif., unveiled a tentative plan to add a hospital, ambulatory-surgery center and third medical office building to its 43-acre campus in Elk Grove, Calif.
The $200 million proposal must win final approval from Sutter governing boards and Elk Groves planning officials and City Council. The 62-bed hospital, which will be designed to expand to 120 beds, must also clear Californias Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development, said Sutter spokeswoman Nancy Turner. Hospital construction, expected to finish in late 2011, would follow construction of the ambulatory-surgery center and third medical office building, Turner said. -- by Melanie Evans
