Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System, Lenexa, Kan., said it has removed the interim designation from Michael Dorseys appointment as president and chief executive officer of two eastern Kansas hospitals owned by the Roman Catholic system.
Dorsey, 52, came on as interim president and CEO of Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, and St. John Hospital, Leavenworth, in October 2006. Dorsey joined the system in 2000 as vice president for network development at St. Francis Health Center, Topeka, Kan., and was promoted to chief operating officer of that hospital in 2003.
Dorsey also has worked for Catholic hospitals in Oklahoma City and Wichita, Kan. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System owns nine hospitals in four states. -- by Vince Galloro
