Parkland Health & Hospital System, Dallas, has named Michael Silhol as its new chief counsel, effective April 23.
Silhol, currently in South America for a two-month Spanish-language immersion program,
succeeds Frank Collura in the position. Collura stepped down for personal reasons in
June 2006, said Melissa Turner, a spokeswoman for Parkland.
Silhols experience includes six years in legal operations at Triad Hospitals, Plano,
Texas, and three years at Columbia/HCA in Tennessee and Louisiana. Most recently, he
was senior vice president and general counsel at Radiologix, a Dallas-based provider
of diagnostic imaging services. Radiologix is a subsidiary of Los Angeles-based
RadNet, which also provides diagnostic imaging services.
A 1983 graduate of Vanderbilt University, Silhol earned his law degree from the
University of Wisconsin in 1985 and served as a captain in the Judge Advocate
Generals Corps from 1985 until 1991, Turner said. In his new role, Silhol will
oversee the legal affairs department and report dually to Ron Anderson, the systems
chief executive officer, and Parklands board of managers. -- by href="mailto:[email protected]">Jessica Zigmond
