Centura Health, a 12-hospital, Englewood, Colo.-based system, has named Terry Forde, 35, as CEO of its Parker (Colo.) Adventist Hospital. He took over that post on March 1. He replaced Ken Bacon, 41, who was appointed CEO of Centuras Littleton (Colo.) Adventist Hospital last December. Forde currently works as the COO of Centuras Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver. He previously worked as the CFO at the Truman Medical Center East in the Kansas City, Mo., suburb of Lakewood. Deborah Molnar has been named chief operating officer and senior vice president of Jewish Hospital & St. Marys HealthCare, Louisville, Ky., officials announced. Molnar, who was acting chief operating officer for the past several months, has worked at the system for 31 years. She took over her new role on Feb. 23. Jacquelyn Gaines is scheduled to become president and CEO of Mercy Health Partners, Scranton, Pa., on April 23, succeeding James May, who was promoted to senior vice president and divisional CEO for Catholic Healthcare Partners on Jan 1. Gaines has served as CEO for Milwaukie Hospital, part of Portland, Ore.-based Providence Health System since 2000.

The Visiting Nurse Associations of America, Boston, named Andy Carter CEO, replacing Carolyn Markey, who will retire later this year. Carter, 48, currently serves as president of the Columbus-based Ohio Childrens Hospital Association, which he joined in 2001. Markey, 61, announced her intent to retire in September 2006. Carter said he would join the association in April and work with Markey, who joined the group in 1997, until her June departure. Ventas, Louisville, Ky., said it promoted Richard Rineyto chief administrative officer, effective immediately. Riney, 49, who joined Ventas in May 1998, will retain his existing titles of executive vice president and general counsel.
Joseph Carey, COO of Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, a Chicago-based vendor of electronic medical-records systems and electronic services, has given notice of his intention to resign, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Carey gave notice on Feb. 13, according to the filing. The effective date of his resignation, however, will be determined upon identification of a successor, and could follow a period of transition, the company said.
