Philip Fasano, 48, has been named senior vice president and chief information officer of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, replacing Bruce Turkstra who has been serving as interim CIO since J. Clifford Dodd resigned from that post on Nov. 7, 2006.
Most recently, Fasano was president and chief executive officer of Capital Sourcing Group, based in McLean, Va., a consulting firm whose clients include the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.Previously, he was CIO of Deutsche Financial Services, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and American Financial Group. He also served as chief business information officer at Capitol One.
A company spokeswoman said that Turkstra will remain with the company, partnering with Fasano during the transition. Until last November, Turkstras title was vice president, KP HealthConnect, and he led Kaiser Permanentes $3 billion electronic medical-record implementation project. Turkstra's prior work experience included serving as the chief technology officer for Merrill Lynch & Co. and chief information officer of Andersen Worldwide and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
