Leslie Simmons, 47, has been promoted to chief operating officer of Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Md. She previously served as vice president of patient-care services at the 188-bed hospital.
As COO, Simmons will focus on overall hospital operations and oversee patient-care services, including managing cardiovascular, outpatient and rehabilitation services. Simmons is also active in several state and national organizations, including the Maryland Organization of Nurse Executives, where she serves as president, and the Maryland Hospital Associations Nursing Faculty Shortage Taskforce, which she chairs. Simmons is also the vice chairwoman of the MHAs Clinical and Quality Council. -- by Matthew DoBias
