I would just like to add my support to having acronyms defined at least one time in an article.
An example of why this could be important is what I found in one hospital I was consulting with at the time.
In their documentation were references to ADA in a number of places. Some referred to American Dietetic Association, some referred to the American Dental Association, some referred to the legal issue of Americans with Disabilities Act, and there were a couple more I don’t remember now.
