Enloe Medical Center, Chico, Calif., has named Deborah Yancer its new chief executive officer, effective April 2.
She replaces Dan Neumeister, who resigned in July 2006 after less than six months on the job following a no-confidence resolution by the medical staff over his decision to award a contract to a new anesthesiology group.
Navigant Consulting executive Beth OBrien has served as interim CEO of 263-bed Enloe Medical Center since Neumeisters departure.
Yancer, a registered nurse, is currently president of 239-bed Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville, Md. Prior to that, Yancer, 53, was executive vice president and chief operating officer of St. Thomas Health Services, Nashville, Tenn. Meanwhile, Shady Grove has appointed Dennis Hansen, its chief operating officer, to serve as interim president until the hospital selects Yancers successor. -- by Laura B. Benko
