Nitin Deshpande, 48, has been named president of Boca Raton, Fla.-based Eclipsys Corp.’s India operations. He will be in charge of managing the day-to-day operations of Eclipsys India and will be part of the company’s executive management team.
Last month, Eclipsys announced it will invest some $8 million in its India operations and that it plans to recruit around 250 employees by the end of 2007 and another 500 over the next two years.
Most recently, Deshpande served as president and chief executive officer of BMC Software’s India operations, and helped the company grow to about 900 employees from 200 in three years.
Before that, he managed strategic business units and delivery-support functions at Geometric Software and Solutions. Deshpande has also worked at Satyam Computer Services, a global consulting and IT services company. -- by Andis Robeznieks / HITS staff writer
