St. Anthony's Medical Center, St. Louis, hired Kevin Sprecher as director of clinical informatics for the 564-bed hospital. Sprecher, 37, will be responsible for ensuring that the hospital's clinical information technology meets practitioners' needs.
Sprecher most recently worked as manager of clinical solutions at Memorial Herman Healthcare System, Houston. From 2000 to 2004, he was a project manager at Spectrum Health, Grand Rapids, Mich. He started his healthcare career at Duke University Hospital, Durham, in 1993 as an intensive-care and surgical-trauma nurse. In 1997, he was promoted to a Duke University Health System job as a nursing informatics systems specialist. -- By Vince
