WellPoint, the nations largest health insurer, this week named Shamla Naidoo vice president and chief information security officer. At Indianapolis-based WellPoint, Naidoo, 43, will oversee the design and implementation of information security strategies, policies and standards.
Naidoo most recently served as chief information security officer with the Northern Trust Corp. in Chicago. Naidoo, who has worked in information technology and security for 20 years, held executive positions with ABN AMRO, Leo Burnett Technical Group, Spherion Corp. and Anglo American/DeBeers. Naidoo, also an attorney, earned a law degree from Chicago's John Marshall Law School and specializes in technology and privacy law.
