Advocate Health Care, Oak Brook, Ill., announced plans to build a 144-bed hospital in Round Lake, Ill., a Chicago suburb, and intends to file a formal certificate-of-need application with the state by March. Vista Health System, Waukegan, Ill., meanwhile, said it will file a CON application for its previously announced hospital project in nearby Lindenhurst, by the end of the month. Vista plans to build a 140-bed, $100 million hospital on the site of a surgery center it owns. Advocate said if it receives a CON for the project, it will invest $200 million to build the new hospital, including the purchase of property. -- by Mark Taylor
