Huron Consulting Group, Chicago, said it acquired healthcare-management consulting firm Wellspring Partners, Chicago, for about $65 million in cash and additional performance-based payouts. Wellsprings unaudited revenue for 2006 was about $55 million, Huron said. David Shade, Wellsprings chief executive officer and a principal, will lead the combined healthcare consulting practice. Wellspring has 65 consultants; Huron said it doesnt disclose its number of consultants by practice but employs 810 consultants overall. Huron also announced a $30 million deal to acquire turnaround firm Glass & Associates, New York, which does some work in healthcare along with a variety of other industries. Huron said it has amended a credit agreement to boost its borrowing capacity to $130 million from $75 million. -- by Melanie Evans
