Christopher Lloyd, COO for Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and Childrens Memorial Hermann Hospital, Houston, has been named system executive for the neuroscience service line, officials announced. Lloyd, 42, also will direct the construction of the new Mischer Neuroscience Institute. Lloyds role as COO of the two facilities will be assumed by Tom Flanagan, 51, most recently the system executive for emergency and trauma services throughout the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System. SSM Health Care, St. Louis, promoted two executives, effective Jan. 2. Don Eggleston, 54, was named vice president of mission values and will oversee pastoral care, community benefit and initiatives related to SSMs mission and values. Eggleston, who joined SSM 17 years ago, is currently director of organizational development. SSM also named A. Dawn Runge as corporate vice president for organizational effectiveness. Runge, 38, joined SSM in 1999 and is currently administrative director of support services at St. Marys Health Center, Richmond Heights, Mo. She will oversee SSMs education, training and development programs. Stacey OQuinn was named community and government relations manager for the Mountain States Health Alliance in southwest Virginia. OQuinns position was created especially for the organizations latest purchase of Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion. OQuinn, 27, will focus on educating state and local elected officials on issues of importance to the alliance. Previously OQuinn worked for the attorney generals office in Virginia, where she served as the special assistant for community relations for two years in the Richmond office.

UnitedHealth Group, Minnetonka, Minn., named Eric Rangen as its new chief accounting officer in charge of audits and internal controls. Rangen, 50, previously was CFO and principal accounting officer at Alliant Techsystems, an advanced weapons and space systems company. He joins UnitedHealth in the midst of a fallout stemming from the stock-options scandal. Rangen will report to G. Mike Mikan, who became CFO following the November resignation of Patrick Erlandson.
