The chief executive officer and president of five-hospital WellStar Health System, Marietta, Ga., died Friday in a motorcycle accident. Robert Lipson, 60, a physician, had led the system for five years. He was pronounced dead at 487-bed WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, where he once practiced medicine as an internist. Lipson was riding a motorcycle early Friday evening when he collided with an automobile, according to news reports. WellStar named Marsha Burke, its chief financial officer and executive vice president, as interim CEO.
