HealthCare Partners, Torrance, Calif., said it acquired JSA Healthcare Corp., St. Petersburg, Fla., for undisclosed terms. JSAs holdings include 27 primary-care clinics and eight pharmacies in the Orlando and Tampa Bay, Fla., areas and Pinnacle Health System, Las Vegas, which operates a 25-physician group and a health plan. HealthCare Partners, a management services organization, runs a primary-care and multispecialty group with more than 400 physicians in Southern California. Robert Margolis, HealthCare Partners chief executive officer, said the acquisition helps the company reach several strategic goals, including geographic and payer diversification as health plans become more national in scope. The combined company is expected to generate revenue of well above $1.25 billion a year, he said. JSA will function as a wholly owned subsidiary of HealthCare Partners. -- by Michael Romano
