HCA, Nashville, may go ahead with its scheduled Nov. 16 shareholders meeting to approve a planned $33 billion buyout, a Tennessee judge ruled, denying a request by some shareholders to delay the meeting. The shareholders sued HCA in Davidson County Chancery Court, Nashville, and asked the judge to delay the meeting by a month while their lawyers reviewed hundreds of thousands of pages of documents related to the buyout. A lawyer for the shareholders couldnt be reached at deadline. HCA said in a statement, We are pleased with the courts ruling and look forward to proceeding with the shareholders meeting on Nov. 16 as planned. -- by Vince Galloro
