The American Academy of Family Physicians, the nation's second-largest medical-specialty society, selected James King of Selmer, Tenn., as its president-elect and inaugurated Rick Kellerman of Wichita, Kan., as its new president. The AAFP's previous president, Larry Fields of Ashland, Ky., became board chairman of the 94,000-member organization. Kellerman, a private-practice family physician, has been an AAFP board member for the past three years.
