St. Joseph Regional Health Center, Bryan, Texas, will pay $750,000 to settle allegations that it failed to monitor controlled substances and maintain adequate drug records between 1999 and 2002. The 283-bed Catholic hospital did not admit wrongdoing. The Drug Enforcement Administration seized hospital records and conducted an audit after calls suggested the hospital pharmacy was not appropriately tracking controlled substances.
