University of Pittsburgh Medical Center plans to add a $100 million tower to its UPMC Passavant, Pittsburgh, increasing the hospital's size 33%. The expansion will double the size of the hospital's emergency room, increase space for cancer, heart and intensive-care patients, and add six operating rooms.
