Longtime healthcare executive Beth O'Brien has joined Navigant Consulting and has been assigned to work as interim chief executive officer at 283-bed Enloe Medical Center, Chico, Calif., effective Tuesday. O'Brien, a former nurse who stepped down in February as president and chief executive officer at Baptist Health System, Birmingham, Ala., was hired by Navigant as a managing director in its healthcare practice. At Enloe, she replaces Dan Neumeister, who resigned after less than six months in the job following a no-confidence resolution by the medical staff over his decision to award a contract to a new anesthesiology group. O'Brien is expected to fill the post temporarily while Enloe seeks a permanent successor. -- by Michael Romano
