Tenet Healthcare Corp., Dallas, hired Biggs Porter, 52, as its chief financial officer, effective June 5, to replace Robert Shapard, who resigned in November 2005 to return to the energy industry. Like Shapard, Porter is a first-time healthcare executive. He will leave his job as vice president and corporate controller at defense contractor Raytheon Co., Waltham, Mass., where he also had acting CFO duties since April 2005 and was responsible for signing off on the company's financial statements. Prior to joining Raytheon, Porter was senior vice president and corporate controller at TXU Corp., Dallas, a utility that now employs Shapard as a strategic adviser. -- by Vince Galloro
