St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Houston, promoted its chief medical officer, David Pate, to senior vice president and chief executive officer, effectively immediately. Pate, 49, a specialist in internal medicine, has both a medical degree and law degree. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center. The 685-bed hospital is the flagship of St. Luke's Health System, Houston, and the primary, private teaching hospital for adults for Baylor College of Medicine. -- by Jessica Zigmond
