High Medicaid fee levels in a community increase the probability that physicians will accept Medicaid patients, according to a study conducted by the Center for Studying Health System Change. But high fee levels do not necessarily lead to high numbers of physicians accepting Medicaid in an area. "Medicaid fee levels are only one of many factors (albeit an important factor) that determine the 'supply' of physicians in an area who are willing to accept Medicaid patients," according to the report.
