The American College of Healthcare Executives said Alyson Pitman Giles, president and chief executive officer at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, N.H., has been nominated as chair-elect for 2006-07. If her nomination is approved by the ACHE's Council of Regents during the organization's Congress on Healthcare Leadership in March, Giles would become chairwoman of the 30,000-member ACHE for a one-year term beginning in March 2007. The ACHE's current chair-elect is William Schoenhard, executive vice president and chief operating officer at SSM Health Care, St. Louis. Schoenhard will become chairman in March, replacing the current chairman, Samuel Odle, who is president and CEO at Methodist Hospital and Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis, and executive vice president at the hospitals' parent system, Clarian Health. -- by Andis Robeznieks
