One key to serving the needs of readers is matching the frequency of a publication to the pace of the news and information being generated on the subject that the publication covers. When Modern Healthcare and Modern Physician launched Health IT Strategist as a monthly electronic magazine in May 2004, we thought we matched HITS' frequency to the pace of news and information coming out of the information technology sector of the healthcare industry. And, we thought we matched the mode of delivery--e-mail--to the technological sophistication of our target audience--senior-level healthcare executives interested in information technology.
Well, we got part of it right.

So, HITS is becoming an electronic newsletter and going daily on Dec. 1. Each issue of Healthcare IT Strategist: The Industry's Daily Information Technology E-Newsletter will feature breaking healthcare IT news, news analysis and commentary, local healthcare IT news from around the country and a people section on who's shaking things up in the healthcare IT community. We're also expanding the target audience of HITS to include C-suite executives across all sectors of the healthcare industry as well as any healthcare executive or manager interested in information technology, including vice presidents of information systems and IT directors of all kinds. We'll give readers the big picture and the details in each issue.
The approximately 8,000 current HITS subscribers will automatically begin receiving the daily version of HITS on Dec. 1 via e-mail.
